The Clinique Pep-Start Event in Zurich About a month ago, I received an Event Invitation from Clinique Switzerland, where I had the honor to join other lovely Swiss Beauty Bloggers at the Launching Event of the Clinique Pep-Start Products, in Zurich (Switzerland). I could not hide my excitement as I had been using some of the Clinique creams for the past two years and I truly love how much Clinique products make my dry skin feel fresh, hydrated and soft all at once. Sadly, as the day of Clinique Pep-Start event came closer, I ended up with flu and shivering in my bed on the big day. I was really disappointed as I had been looking forward to attend the event and discover these wonderful new products as well as meeting the Clinique team. Now, luckily, the PR team of Clinique Switzerland is absolutely marvelous and they are the kindest I have met so far! Thus, about one week after the event took place, I received a beautiful Clinique package in the mail. To those of you who also follow me on Instagram, I had shared this via my Instagram Story too. The Products “Prep. Pep. Go.” 1) The Clinique Pep-Start 2-in-1 Exfoliating Cleanser With its Papaya and gentle peeling extract, this Clinique Pep-Start 2-in-1 Exfoliating Cleanser is simply the BOMB! It not only cleans my skin deeply but it also leaves it beautifully soft and pure. This product suits all skin types and if you are like me and have a dry skin with sometimes also a bit of eczema, the Clinique Pep-Start 2-in-1 Exfoliating Cleanser is your way to go in order to clean your skin as it is gentle and does the work happily well. I would recommend you to apply it every morning on your face and hands, then rinse it out with some warm water. And another good news, is that it only costs you 27.- Swiss Franc for the 125ml (about 27 USD), so no need to break our wallet to get a perfectly clean and soft skin in little to no time. 2) The Clinique Pep-Start Cleansing Swipes This one is perfect to clean your skin while you are on the go, as the swipes will help you to get rid of the impurity, pollution and fat that sticks to your skin little by little throughout your busy Boss Lady days. Here again, the price is really good as it will only cost you 22.- Swiss Franc (About the same in USD) for 50 pieces. 3) The Clinique Pep-Start HydroRush SFP 20 Moisturizer Your perfect moisturizer which is full of Vitamin C and E and that will happily mix with your foundation, while protecting your skin from the sun (SFP 20). The texture is really nice and soft and like all Clinique Beauty Products, there is 100% no perfume in this cream, making it perfect for all skin types, including super dry and sensitive skins. I really love this one because it really feels like it feeds your skin in a nice way and it leaves you with a fresh and clean feeling. Now you must think, this sounds so nice… but what about the cost? Well, like the entire Clinique Pep-Start range, the Clinique Pep-Start HydroRush SFP 20 Moisturizer is only 34.- Swiss Francs (Same in USD) for 50ml! So yes, once again, a true gift both for our skin and wallet! 4) The Clinique Pep-Start Hydroblur Moisturizer Ok, now from all the Clinique Pep-Start products, this one is somehow my absolute favorite as its texture reminds me of another cream I used to apply from Clinique. I think the name of the cream has been perfectly chosen as it feels like you are literally massaging your skin with pure and fresh water pearls. If you are always on the go like me and are looking for the cream that you can bring everywhere with you and that will hydrated your skin to the max, go for the Clinique Pep-Start Hydroblur Moisturizer, you will thank me later! 😉 Now this beauty is once again super affordable as it will only cost you 34.- Swiss Franc (Same in USD) for 50ml. 5) The Clinique Pep-Start Eye Cream My little miracle… this one is really cool as it will leave you all fresh and beautiful for your After Work Parties! Just apply some in the morning if you feel like you look a bit tired and then apply once again just before you leave your work or university in the evening. This Clinique Pep-Start Eye Cream won’t hide your circles but it will however visibly and instantly reduce the stress effect and tiredness that you hate seeing while checking your pretty eyes in your little pocket mirror. Cherry on the pie, the price is once again really great as it will only cost you 36.- Swiss Clinique Pep-Start Franc (Same in USD). Prep. Pep. Go! Hey my lovelies, hope you had an amazing first week of November! As some of you might have seen via my social networks, on Wednesday evening, 2nd of November, I attended the KENZO X H&M private event party held in Geneva (Switzerland) with my lovely friend Daniela, who is also a Swiss Blogger. We were both super excited although a bit confused too as this KENZO X H&M Collection surely is rich in color and prints, making these outfit not always super easy to wear on a daily basis… A Colorful & Animal Prints Celebration at KENZO X H&M Event Roaring at Women’s Craziness Around 5:45pm we started to feel the tension and over excitement of some of our lucky VIP’s buddies! The staff got behind the barriers, briefing each other on how to act and stuff. It was fun for me to see them do what I usually do for a living and for once not having any stress about it, cause it wasn’t my responsibility for once! So Daniela and I were laughing a bit, wondering why the staff was acting as if they were about to manage a mini black Friday crisis… Well, well, well… The barriers that separated us from the famous KENZO X H&M Collection finally opened and my God I laughed and freaked out at the same time so badly! Have you also been watching all the episodes of F.R.I.E.N.D.S more than once like I did? Yeah?! Well do you remember the episode about Rachel and Phoebe queuing for an entire night and then go crazy over bridal dresses, SNATCHING the dresses from a crazy chick who had just snatched that dress from another crazy gal? Well my lovelies… that is EXACTLY what happened in front of us during the KENZO X H&M Event in Geneva! And it was hila- wait for it-rious, simply and purely hilarious! So yeah I thought, why not play the game as well! 😉 I did not snatched I promise, but I picked a bunch of colorful articles, without really looking what it was but rather focusing on the sizes. I felt like I would have some time to try the outfits later on and this strategy actually worked very well. I am so bad, sorry not sorry Talking about playing the game, I could not stop laughing as when I was about to put back a stylish jacket on the trail (because well, yeah, I looked like a potato bag, so it did not look cool on me at all…). So, the second I was… abbbb-ouuuut to put it back, two crazy chicks tried to aggressively snatch it from me. So as I did not wanted to buy it at all… I naturally pretended I would totally buy it! Cause the demand for this “funny potato shape” jacket was too high to just make these two chicks happy! I am so so bad, seeing their frustrated faces was too damn good! Okey, just about 10 minutes later, I left the jacket somewhere else and made a sweet, kind and respectful lady happy! Call it KARMA. The KENZO X H&M Collection Now, the KENZO X H&M Collection is really fresh, colorful and really jungle printed style. Fashionistas can find their dream pieces in this collection but I feel like Asian and Africans would definitely be the ones who would totally rock the KENZO X H&M Collection! At first I wasn’t sure of getting anything but then eh! I was one of the super lucky ones to attend this private event, so I literally could not leave without a “souvenir”! Clap, clap, That’s smart MARKETING @KENZO & H&M! I ended up falling for a black T-shirt with a rocky-jungle print on it.  I will probably style it with a leather skirt, my fav’ fall 2016 black shoes, my Zara denim jacket and finish up this look with my favourite earrings jackets… I’ll see. Happy 1st of November my lovelies! Hope you are doing well! Let’s talk about ear jewelry today. Are you always wearing the same earrings because you feel like other types make your face look too different? Or do you enjoy changing often, always seeking for new shapes and ideas? As you might have noticed, I almost only wear pearls as earrings, which by the way are always made of plastic (because I lose them all the time and why buy expensive ones if I can get tones of plastic ones…)? Sarcastic jokes apart, today I would like to share with you my new favorite earrings which are called “earrings jackets”. Why? Because I am sure you will love them as much as I do! So yes, after way to many years, I have finally dropped my super shiny plastic pearls and have started to wear earrings jackets since September 2016 and still can’t get enough of them. Here is why… So what are earrings jackets and why am I obsessed with them? Earrings jackets are a piece of jewelry that literally dresses your ears as a jacket would on your beautiful body! Although it doesn’t cover up you ears in Winter! At least, not yet! One thing which I really like is that by wearing a certain type of earrings jackets, you will realize right away that these beauties are actually a real stunner and are enough to style your entire outfit. Another cool thing about earrings jackets is that you don’t need to have your entire ears pierced obviously but it might look like you actually did it, when wearing earrings jackets. So, if you would like to opt for a chic look, I recommend you to go for the pearl or the bling earring jackets. If you, however, like to change your style quite often, I would suggest to get some earrings jackets with spikes and a touch of glam, giving you a rock and stylish look in an instant. Personally, I feel like my style is a bit of a chameleon… Some days I wear a total rock outfit mixed with some denim, some other days I wear a kinda boho outfit and some others I prefer a much more classical style. For way too many years I have been constantly coloring my lock of hair (there almost isn’t any color I have not tried…) and on top of that, I used hot hair straightener and curling iron a lot. All this resulted in having to cut my hair more than once and every time I was feeling the same way… super happy with my new look the first few weeks and then all of a sudden regretting it big time. So, if you are a “crazy beauty products adventurer” like me, you may struggle with damaged and dry hair and might wonder is there any way on earth you can avoid cutting your hair? Mistakes made, I slowly but surely learned that applying various chemicals and heating our hair often does weaken the hair follicles, which leaves us with really dry locks, split ends and sometimes a dull color. So how can you avoid cutting your hair? Here are five efficient products I tried and happily adopted, so say goodbye to scissors and hello to your new beautiful and healthy long lock of hair. Like many other girls, having long and healthy hair is important to me, thus I have asked some great hairstylists I met around the globe which products they highly recommend. I am therefore delighted to share with you five awesome products that will bring full health, glow and happiness to your locks all this as a solution to avoid cutting your hair. THE Shampoo Kérastase Résistance Bain Force Architecte I had heard a lot about it, so I decided to give it a try and you should too. As it acts as a restorative shampoo, it will help strengthen your locks thanks to its nourishing ingredients. Kérastase Résistance Bain Force Architecte Shampoo is made of both Ceramides (hair fibers strengthener) and Pro-keratin (protein helping rebuilding your hair) which will give your hair a brand new life! THE Serum & Protector Sérum Fluido Iluminador Stylus by Deliplus This amazingly efficient and cheap serum (4.35€ only) is a true BOMBER I discovered in Spain and it surely will convince you not to chop it all off! You can get it online here or directly buy it at any Mercadona supermarkets in Spain. Sérum fluido iluminador Stylus from Deliplus brand helps to heal your locks split ends and protects your hair against breakage, heat, as well as UV damages. I would suggest you to apply it to your wet hair and to let your locks air dry naturally before using your hot hair tools. Add it to your daily hair routine, it smells really nice and you will notice its magical result in no time! Putting serum on your hair every day is always the right way to avoid cutting your hair. THE Brush Handle Tangle Detangling Brush Since damaged hair are really fragile, ensure you use the right brush to both avoid knots and further breakage. I personally love my Handle Tangle Detangling Brush as it is gentle, reduces my split ends, leaves my hair super soft and helps me to untangle my wet hair without feeling any pain. I would recommend you not to buy it in a hair salon as you can find the exact same one much cheaper online! THE Hair Dryer T3 Featherweight Luxe 2i When in Singapore, my hairdresser used the T3 Featherweight Luxe 2i hair dryer which apparently is the new generation of ionic! So as I am always really curious, I asked him how come my hair was that soft and amazing after he used this hairdryer… so he explained me that “tourmaline” is a stone famous to retain moisture and to help smooth dry hair. Although it has a price (USD 250 if you get it at Sephora), if you want to opt for a great hairdryer, this model is your way to go as it will decrease damage during the drying process and will leave you with super soft and gorgeous hair! Thus, there is no surprise, your big day should better meet if not exceed your expectations, otherwise you will be disappointed and there is no way I would allow that to happen to you! Now, although it may seem not too complicated to organize a wedding, trust me, it did not become a full time job by accident. From your “save the date” design, selecting the best date, finding and booking your favorite vendors (while respecting your set budget), making your timeline, running order, menus and placing your guests to specific tables, there are a hell of a lot of elements and items that seriously take a lot of time to think of and which need to be carefully considered and planned until you and your special person will happily exchange your vows under a gorgeous floral arch. So in this post you will discover how to plan a wedding like a Pro. Now, if you have decided that hiring a Wedding Planner would be too expensive to fit in your tight budget, you will quickly realize that organizing your own wedding without a professional can feel overwhelming and pretty stressful. Thus, you have two options; you can either send me an email/leave a comment below asking me how I could help you by customizing a cheaper package that suits your specific needs (Uniquely Wedding Styling and no Planning for example), or, you can try to follow and apply my secret “stress-free tips” below to plan a wedding like a Pro. Plan a Wedding Like a Pro: ♡ Set & Stick to Your Budget Overspending on your dress or flowers? That’s ok my dear but ensure you are cutting back from another element on your budget list. I know it is not really fun to drastically keep an eye on money, so allow yourself some flexibility by prioritizing the big and imperative spend items first on your budget. By imperative I mean you dress, the venue, the food and the drinks, not the super expensive pair of Louboutin you will only wear once in your life. 😉 In order to plan a wedding like a Pro and to easily separate what is imperative from what is more part of your “wish list” items, just create a “T” account when you first start to draft your budget. This will be of a great help and will keep your head on your shoulders. ♡ Create your Wedding Timeline Now that you understood how to easily manage your budget, the next step to plan a wedding like a Pro is to create your timeline. This latter is one of the most important element to plan your wedding like a pro. Your first mission here is to develop your wedding timeline and map out due dates on your calendar. I personally have a template I use for my couples, so if you need it, just leave a comment below and I’d be delighted to share it with you. Once it will be up on the blog, ensure to carefully follow our timeline when planning out your own wedding timeline. Don’t forget, you’d better be too early than sorry if you seek to plan a wedding like a Pro! ♡ Give some love to your Excel Sheets I know, Excel isn’t the sexiest thing on this earth but as a planner, I always work in excel, but to plan a wedding like a Pro, if you prefer the old school way of writing down on your diary every expense you are paying for an event, t’s up to you. Here my secret tip to you is for you to ensure to daily track all your expenses in order to make your planning efforts run smoothly and not forget any little expenses you might think is insignificant. Because trust me on the long run these left over expenses can easily make you exceed your set budget and cutting of something last minute you really need would be pretty upsetting. ♡ Pick your Venue & Vendors early Now that you know how to plan out your wedding budget and timeline, it is time to start planning the most important details, starting with you wedding venue. My advice to you is to first decide on how many guests you will be inviting in order to know how much money you will be spending per person. No rock in science here, the smaller your wedding will be the more money you will have per person. Once your guest list is ready, add about 10 extra spaces for any guest you would have forgotten to count at first, then move on to selecting your wedding venue, the date and your theme. The great thing when hiring a Wedding Planner is that we often have lists of venue suggestions or we would be the ones finding venues and then you select. However, if you cannot or don’t wish to hire a planner, you will have to meet with various venue owners. Once you are with them, make sure you get a list of what they provide and do not provide on the day of the wedding such as; Table wear, catering, direction signs, sound system, light effects, alcohol license, music till early morning, and so on. Then ask your potential venue’s owners to send you a formal quote. Also it is imperative that you find out on which dates your preferred venues are still available. My advice to you to plan a wedding like a Pro is to avoid any bank holiday dates such as Christmas, New Year’s Eve, Easter and so on as on these dates each single of your vendor will ask you for a consequent surcharge fee. Once you received the offers from the vendors and venues’ owners, review all the contracts before signing them. Additionally, ask the venues’ owners if you can stop by when they have an upcoming wedding celebration so that you can project yourself more easily by getting a clear idea on how the venue looks like with wedding decoration and when it’s full of guests. As a planner I always ask the venue owners to show me their event space in full action before I decide to show it to my couples. ♡ Wedding Design & Identity Your sister or her best friend’s cousin is highly skilled at designing and calligraphy? Get her number and ask her for some help to design signs, invitations, programs and your save the dates. Otherwise, feel free to get in touch with me and I can provide you with a list of the top wedding designers I know, whom will ensure your wedding color scheme and theme are consistent and blend perfectly together. To me, there is nothing greater than to help couples customize their very own wedding. Creativity is key and I like to ensure your couple’s personality is respected and well & strongly represented. After all, no wedding should never look alike, just as no love story ever look alike. So be unique, be you. ♡ Build your “Vendors Dream Team” I can’t stress this one enough, your vendors are the essence of your wedding apart of course you being deeply in love with your soulmate. Therefore, be highly diligent when hiring vendors. Ensure you ask them for other couples’s referrals and create an excel spreadsheet with all your vendors’ contact info, including at least one if not two back-up contacts (that’s one of your Plan B) for all vendors. As it is your wedding you are organizing, here are some of the vendors you will need to get in touch with; DJ, F&B Caterer, Sound and lighting Systems, Photograph, Makeup Artist, Hairdresser, Décor Agency or Wedding Designer, Photo Booth Company, Florist, Wedding Dress Boutique and the list goes on… Here my secret tip to you is to set up meetings with all your potential vendors and have follow-up meetings, emails and phone calls. Ensure you always write an email to the vendors after your meeting or phone calls, stating exactly what has been said during the conversation. This is important in order to protect you from any miscommunication or misunderstanding. So always have it written down, black on white. By picking the right vendors, you will feel in good hands and will really feel a strong team bound for your wedding, reducing your level of stress. ♡ Be grateful to your guests No matter which kind of celebration I am hired to plan, I always go out of my way to guarantee an amazing service that exceeds my clients ‘satisfaction. So even though you are both the couple and the planners in this case, I still recommend you to go the extra mile for your guests and any other person involved in the success of your wedding. So, find a special and if possible unique gift for your guests, preferably one you can customize and that is useful (not a thingy that will either end up in the garbage straight up or one that will be left in a corner of the house, taking the dust). If you need some gift ideas let me know below in the comments and I might write a post about “the best wedding gifts to offer at your wedding”. Now, other than the gifts for your guests, it is always nice if you prepare a small gift for your vendors too but of course that is only if you feel like doing so. One of my other secret tips is for you to create welcome bags for your wedding guests who crossed the globe to attend your big day (leave the bags at the hotel reception where your guests booked their rooms). Now, inside the welcome bag, ensure you include the schedule of the weekend activities or directly your big day (add your wedding venue address). Additionally, add the departure times to pick up the wedding shuttle you organized at the lobby, as well as where to go and what to do during guests’ time-off and don’t forget to add some little cute and useful goodies for your guests too. I could suggest you to customize your goodies to cater to the location of your wedding – for example, if the wedding is taking place in the South of Spain or in Thailand where it is super-hot and sunny, include a pair of funny sunglasses, a mini water-refreshing spray, a bottle of water with your wedding logo on it and a customized fan to keep your guest fresh and glam! Trust me, your guests will absolutely love your personalized welcome bags and will feel warmly welcomed. By doing this, you are one step closer to plan a wedding like a Pro and the WOW effect will be guaranteed! ♡ 1 Month left only? Don’t stress. Try to opt for a place with lots of greenery, trees and flowers. It could either be in a garden, the forest or a field as long as there is an indoor venue which you can use in case of bad weather. 2) Use Wild Flowers Because your lovely wedding theme is all about nature and romanticism, ensure you use lots of wild and fresh flowers to decorate every single element of your wedding and don’t forget to wear a beautiful flower crown. The secret here is to give the impression you have picked up the flowers in the nature directly. 3) Boho Wedding Ceremony Whether your ceremony happens on a beach or in a green landscape, make sure you set up a romantic arch. Although we are all working with lots of things to manage on our plate, we all deserve a little party as this never hurt anybody! With many restaurants and bars starting their happy hours right after you knock off, you can easily relax after a crazy day of work with your expats friends. PRIVE CHIJMES Have a chic, trendy and relaxing night out at Privé Chijmes. You will love their menu and will feel enchanted with the fairy lights that surround this gorgeous venue. TANJONG BEACH CLUB Because sometimes you might just feel like you need to take your expats friends away from the city and have some fun at a hype beach club on Sentosa Island!
