Hola Chicas! Today it is ALL about fashion for once. You know that I ain’t no “Fashion Blogger”, but that does not mean I am not crazy about trends and the fashion world. As some of you might have seen on my Instagram, I have recently been collaborating with my favorite online fashion brand, NA-KD and I am really excited about this collaboration, you have NO idea. Here are my three favorite pieces I picked from NA-KD and I could not have chosen better as I just LOVE how they fit! Really cannot wait to wear it when spring will kick winter away. I love the texture of the dress and the back is simply gorgeous. If you have to, dedicate an entire day to this task and put your newly discovered ‘old golds’ on top; this will ensure they get back into your regular rotation. Now, this is a good time to make some hard choices and set some clothes free for good. The general rule of thumb is: if you haven’t worn it for a year – it goes; overly trendy now outdated items also, and those you bought on a whim and don’t work with anything you own. The fun part Now, it’s time to shop. Okay, the first thing you definitely must own is a double-breasted checkered blazer, preferably long, preferably oversized. This piece is key for numerous reasons. First – it embodies the new concept of power dressing as it is technically a part of a pantsuit. Secondly, it’s a refreshing piece especially in the light of the fact that plaid is the pattern of the season yet has a timeless vibe to it, so you know it won’t be short-lived. Finally, if it’s long enough, you can pull it off as a dress, especially with black tights and a cool belt. Dare to wear The one rule you need to follow when you want to revamp your wardrobe is to reach for things you never thought you would dare to wear. Try things you never thought would look good on you. For instance, some women spend ages thinking they can’t pull of wide leg pants because they don’t have Karlie Kloss’s legs, but given the right fabric and cut, these can look amazing and so, so chic on every body shape, but like Goldilocks, you just have to find the right one. You can wear them with hoodies – athleisure style, with sneakers or sky-high heels, camisole tops, regular tees – dress them up or down, totally up to you. Hello my Lovelies! Hope you are well. Next Sunday will be my 28’s birthday and honestly, I am freaking out! Where on earth did the past 10 years fly? At the time, I was about to turn 18, becoming a miniature adult… How I miss it. Anyways, before I start crying and eat too much cupcakes, I am finally back with a new beauty post as I have recently got myself three new beauty products from parfumsale.ch, which is a Swiss online beauty shop with great discounts on all our favorite brands and I bet you will love it as much as I do. Chloé, until the end of times Within the past few years, I also adopted other scents from Chloé, like Roses De Chloé (I think this one is my absolute favorite btw), Love Story and Chloé Signature Fleur De Parfum (Ok, this one is also my favorite. I literally could not just pick one!). The funny thing about it is that no matter which one I wear, my relatives instantly know that I am somewhere around because of the scents, but it became so much “part of me” that I don’t smell it on myself anymore. It is a regenerating and replenishing eye care and as I am turning 28 springs this weekend, I really, really need to apply eye care each night now more than EVER! Haha… Now, I have billions of beauty products in my bathroom but I NEEDED this magical eye care in my life, so for people not to judge me too much, I pretend I live with a bunch of other girls… Yeah, then that could also explain the number of shoes at my entrance door and my 11 bottles of shampoo and conditioners from different brands in my shower (all started, but none finished)… Can you relate? Anyways, I have just started to use this “Absolue Yeux bx” eye care, so if it makes my dark circle disappear and bring my sweet 20 year old’s skin back, then rest assured YOU will know about it. Sleeping beauty, keep me young Last but not least, I got myself one of the products I had been wishing to try for a while now, the Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II by Estée Lauder (ANR, to those in the know). I realized that I have tones of products to clean my skin, all of them are from Clinique and I think I will make a post about my daily skincare routine soon, but anyway I have many day-creams but very few, to none night-cream. So again, as I am only two years away from my exciting yet super scary 30’s, I think it is time to apply a night anti-ageing care before I go nuts and jump straight to injections. I apply and blend a small amount of cream between my two fingertips. I smooth over the upper and lower eye contour. I gently pinch the eye contour to stimulate and firm. I literally repeat these steps 3 times. The Advanced Night Repair by Estée Lauder is a peachy-colored gel that looks like serum and is one of the brand’s bestsellers. It has already done well on many gorgeous ladies out there since the Eighties. I am kind of clueless in terms of anti-ageing because I always said it is for “older chicas” but hey, I am slowly getting one of them too. Now, this anti-ageing serum is designed to work while you sleep and it acts on our lines and wrinkles, dullness and dryness to leave us with a more youthful and radiant skin. Here is how I use it: I applicate it every single night. ANR comes with a pipette dispenser for hygienic application. I apply a drop on each of my fingertip of one hand and “touch fingertips of both hands together” as Estée Lauder recommends. I massage it into my skin. I smooth it over my face right after cleansing. Then I apply my moisturizer. Overall, I feel like my skin is already a bit more radiant since using it for 1 week and I am sure that over time the result will be great, but I am not sure it has made a big impact on my few fine lines yet. Thus, like many other products I am trying lately, I will happily give it the test of time, since my old enemy “patience” is required. That’s it my Lovelies! Hello my Lovelies! It’s time to talk about the SS18 fashion trends and see whether we will dare to adopt these tendencies or not… Here are the 5 ultimate trends which I spotted during the SS18 fashion catwalks. 1) Ice cream Pastel colors From all the SS18 trends, pastel colors is probably one of my favorite trend. There is nothing nicer than wearing some pastel colors on a tanned skin and this makes me say that I cannot wait for warmer days. Pastel colors are not only girly and sweet looking shades that can be incorporated with almost any color but they can also be mixed and matched with other pastels, as well as neutral colors. Now, it does not matter, whether your style is a bit edgy like mine or you have a more classy style, we will all be able to wear pastels and look a bit like pretty and dreamy ice cream shades. Personally, I love these tones because I find them extremely sweet and delicate, oh and yes again, they will make our summer glow look even greater, so that is a big plus too! Here are three pieces I like and which have convinced me to adopt this delicious and sweet SS18 trend; A cute pair of pastel yellow pants by Esprit, a lilac dress by Boohoo and a pastel pink sweater also from Esprit. 2) It’s all about Crayola colors & Jumpsuits While red was THE color of the last fashion season, designers have decided to not only keep this gorgeous tomato color for this SS18 but to also actually get deeply inspired by the full primary colors of the first Crayola palette you ever owned. Whether it is ketchup red, bright pink, emerald green, purple or canary yellow, this SS18 will be full of color pop statement pieces and jumpsuits, so I must admit I like it! The world nowadays is often too greyish so some happy colors can only do well to it. Now, if head to toe brights jumpsuits, like this pretty yellow piece from Boohoo, are not your cup of tea, there will always be a way to wear the Crayola colors with prints, making it more “wearable” like this jumpsuit from TopShop. Not only this will be easier to wear but also, it will make your outfits even more stylish. 3) Denim from head to toes Remember the one-piece denim you wore when singing out loud your favorite Britney Spears’ songs early 2000? Well, this year, the total jeans-look is back! I am not sure whether that trend makes me happy or not, but I think it actually kind of does! I would have never thought I would see the return of tailored denim, but then, I did not realize it would look this good again! I definitely give this trend a second chance and fell for this full denim look; jeans jacket like this one and pants like these both from Esprit and those cute denim slippers here from MyTheresa. 4) Fanny Packs We have started to see these weird fanny packs thingies we thought we would never ever see nor wear ever again in our life since what? 25 years ago? I remember my lovely Mom had a bunch of fanny packs in fluorescent colors and I first thought it was weird but then, somehow I would not leave the house anymore without my “so fancy” fanny pack (I of course only had $2.99 of pocket money in it for some candies). So there we are again? 25 years later, I regret to inform you all these fanny packs are back to life and they seem to be everywhere since Marc Jacobs, Gucci and Sportmax have found a way to make me say that fanny packs can actually look pretty awesome! Again, at first I was like “What?” but then, I fell for the way Gucci made magic by mixing the old fanny pack with their Marmont collection. Their design look SO contemporary and chic. It definitely became much chicer than my Mom’s fluo belt bag back in the 90’s. 5) Sportswear & Print on Print Who said you cannot look cool and stylish when sweating at the gym in your Dad’s old shellsuit? While we were kind of celebrating the 70’s last year, well 2018 is the new 80s! That’s right, my lovelies, the shellsuit and the popping colors are back. Now, if you are not ready to wear some fluo shellsuits, do not worry, you are not alone and you will probably prefer to opt for the other sportswear trend, which is my go-to and is made of “normal-wearable” sportswear. However, to look fancy, your sportswear must be both colorful and have some pretty cool prints on them like this pretty Esprit Yoga/Sport pants and this Adidas sport jacket. Cherry on the sports-fashion pie? Mix the prints and the colors, you will be surprised with the result (in a good way I promise). You have your set of lipsticks, nail polishes, foundations, and makeup brushes you cannot imagine your life without, but when you’re on the road, you should take a different approach. Always have a small bag filled with emergency makeup: BB cream, eyeliner, lipstick, small bottles of shampoo and conditioner, and makeup removal wipes. These are the bare necessities which will help you look great when you’re on the road, but won’t take up too much space in your suitcase. A travel pillow You never know how you will travel next: will it be by train with your best friend? A road trip with your girlfriends? Will you take a plane to a romantic destination with that special someone, or will you board the bus and head to an adventure? Whatever means of transportation you choose, you will arrive at your destination dead tired and drained, unless you catch a few hours of blessed sleep while travelling. Inflatable, memory foam, one with a hoodie, or one in an unconventional shape – whatever your choice may be, make sure a travel pillow is always in your travel bag, so you can get some sleep. It may be the midst of winter when you decide to travel, but remember that a number of great hotels have luxurious swimming pools you can use even if it’s snowing outside. Be prepared and buy great swimwear in advance, so that you can look great by the pool with a glass of wine, or sunbathing on the sand while azure waves lull you to sleep. A first aid kit If you use a particular painkiller when you have a headache, you have problems with digestion, or you’re allergic to something, you should bear in mind that your medicine may not be available in the place you’re travelling to. Having your own first aid kit with you will help you feel safer and be better prepared in case of emergency. Keep a pack of aspirin for your headache, something stronger for menstrual cramps, some band-aids, sharp tweezers, antiseptic wipes, and of course, condoms. A set of comfy yet stylish clothes goes a long way in keeping you well-rested and comfortable, and you can use it later on too. A nice pair of sandals, leggings and a plain tee are great to travel in, but you can later wash the clothes and sleep in them if need be. A hoodie is a must-have too because it can keep you warm if you’re travelling during the night and it will not take up too much space in your bag, unlike a jacket. A little black dress It doesn’t matter where you’re going, you never know if an occasion will present itself for you to go on a nice date, a fancy dinner, or to the movies. This is why a little black dress is always good to pack in your suitcase, along with a pair of comfy-yet-elegant sandals and a nice clutch bag. A little black dress is one of the most versatile pieces of clothing any girl can own, and you should keep one with you at all times. The best thing is you don’t even have to use a lot of accessories when wearing black: lipstick, shoes, or a belt in a bright color will be enough to make you stand out from the crowd and look elegant. We are all different and we travel to different places, and before you start packing, do a bit of research and learn as much as you can about the place you’ll be staying in. On the other hand, if you’d like something a bit more extravagant and revealing, pick a mini dress and pair it with sexy over-the-knee boots. Remember that the holiday season is when excessive sparkle is not only approved, but encouraged, and go sparkle-crazy with your outfits. Hello my Lovelies! Christmas is just around the corner and although I am not a big fan of the cold outside, I have to admit that the Advance month is one of my favorite of the year. And guess what? It has been snowing non-stop these past two days here in Switzerland and seeing all this white beauty inspired me to create this new and easy DIY Mövenpick Snow Man Ice Cream. I had so much fun creating this funny and 100% eatable dessert while using my favorite Ice Cream from Mövenpick, the “Vanilla Dream” flavor as well as using a few other magical elements… In this DIY Mövenpick Snow Man Ice Cream post, you will: – Learn how YOU too can easily surprise your family and friends by creating a cute Snow Man ice cream dessert for your Christmas festivities. AND – Discover the making off Video of me, making this crazy little project of mine with a few… difficulties? Sounds cool right? So, let’s start, it is time for you to create your own Mövenpick Snow Man Ice Cream! Here is what you will need to create your Mövenpick Snow Man Ice Cream: 1) The Ice Cream One pot of Mövenpick Ice Cream in Vanilla Dream flavor. For 2 to 3 portions you can use the 900ml pot, which is the one I used. 2) The Snow Man body One ice cream scoop. If you have two different sizes of scoops, that is great as well because you can create a bigger Mövenpick Snow Man Ice Cream body and a smaller head. 3) The Hat A marzipan Snow Man to take his hat. Alternative? You can also create a hat by using a flat biscuit and add a little chocolate on top on it. 4) The Eyes A pair of Sugar Eyes, which you can find at the cake section of your grocery store. Alternative? You can use the silver Sugar balls you would put on your Christmas biscuits or any other kind of cute sugar shape; stars, hearts, etc. 5) The Nose One marzipan carrot. Just cut the tip of the marzipan carrot, so that your Snow Man’s nose is proportionate to is head. 6) The Mouth You can either use a small spoon, to create the shape of the mouth or you can use the curvy tip of Vanilla Pod. 7) The Arms One Vanilla Pod and one knife to cut it in two pieces. 8) The Buttons Use any kind of cute and colorful sugar decoration; stars, hearts, etc. 9) The Final Styling Touch Use Coconut flour to create the snow around your Snow Man on a nice plate. Add some winter white & light blue sugar decoration. 10) The Table Styling Add some gold stars and Coconut flour around the plate together with some blueish sugar decoration. Grab your scissors and go outside to pick some greens (Since I don’t have a garden, I went to “steal” some greens from my neighbors! Hope they won’t mind… hihi) Then, place the greens behind the plate and place a gold spoon on it. Ensure you do all the Table Styling before you start making your Snow Man, of course. The Tricky Parts? It is definitely to place the head on top of the body part and of course to create the Snow Man before it melts. I had planned to have it standing up but after only two pictures, it fell on the plate and I screamed “Nooooooo”. Then, well… it still looked good when lying down on the plate and so I replaced his hat properly and continued photographing/filming my creation to be able to show it to you here! My personal Advice? Be well prepared, organized and quick because it is ice cream and it melts faster than we think. Additionally, I suggest you to have someone to help you to ensure all the “operation” is on point. In my case, I was alone to do it all, plus after the styling parts, I took pictures and filmed it all by myself… (Yes, I did sing that Céline Dion song by the way) so yes, better to be two and the fun will be duplicated too! Hello my Lovelies! Today I am back with some events styling tips to show you how small details can make quite a big impact when it comes to your celebrations’ tableware. One of the things I enjoy styling the most when I organize a brunch or dinner celebration is the table. The reason why I like this part so much is that it is often the smallest details in a table setting that make the overall look and feel of your event, a memorable and stylish one. A few years ago, when I was still working as a Wedding Planner, I realized the importance of having nice cutlery, glassware and tableware beautifully set on the weddings’ tables. We often underestimate this part as we would rather focus on a specific napkins fold or the number of wine glasses we need rather than thinking of finding stylish pieces which will not only be useful to drink and eat but will also bring the WOW effect to our tableware. Although there are many styles, one of my favorite is gold flatware has I feel like it is the perfect option to add a little spark to a brunch or dinner celebration. I personally even got some pretty ones for my home, which I got at Zara Home and I love to use them when inviting my family or friends over (And of course eating my Pistachio ice cream in front of my TV watching Bridget Jones after a tough day at work! Joking… or not). I really love the beauty and sophistication touch that gold cutlery adds to a table. Another reason why I like it so much is that it is super versatile and works within any color palette. Hellooo my Lovelies! It feels like it’s been forever since I last wrote to you here on the blog. Am SO sorry about it, as you saw on my Instagram feeds and my Insta Stories, I have been very busy lately; between having a full time job that takes up more than 150% of my time plus all the travelling I have done… CRAZY! Don’t get me wrong, I really enjoy what I do and am not complaining at all but sometimes it is really challenging to manage well all the things happening in my life. I also took a bit more time before writing to you again here on the blog because lots of things have happened to me lately; some really sad and devastating but also some good things… I just needed some time OFF the blogging world to just rest and take care of other priorities. Anyways, after lots of travelling, I am now back in Switzerland and it feels great to be “home” at least until the next exciting big trips. I can’t believe it is December again already. This year went by WAY TOO FAST. I feel really blessed for all the places I have been to this year again and all the exciting projects I could work on with my Blog, especially the video I made with Clinique, which propelled me to where I am today. I have also met some wonderful human beings this year who share the same passion for photography, blogging and creating creative content. So am feeling really blessed for all these things, and also blessed to have people visiting my blog every day, you guys are THE best!
